The first season of the third scripted Walking Dead series should already be done and in the books by now. The Walking Dead: World Beyond was scheduled to debut back on April 12. Then COVID-19 hit, and even though filming had already been completed on the 10-episode season, AMC announced on March 20 that the network was delaying the series until later in the year to make sure post-production special effects could be completed, as well as to help shore up programming in case other content (read: season 11 of mothership The Walking Dead) was not ready for air.

But how long would the delay last? Today, during the shows Comic-Con@Home panel, we got our answer. The Walking Dead: World Beyond will debut on Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, directly after the delayed season 10 finale of The Walking Dead. It will then remain in that Sunday at 10 p.m. time slot, airing directly after the sixth season of Fear the Walking Dead (which premieres a week later on Oct. 11).

We were also treated to a new trailer for the series, which shows the group of youngsters at the heart of the story venturing out of the seemingly heavily guarded confines of home on a journey into the zombie-filled unknown. The trailer also introduces us to a zombie beehive, and how a flashlight can come in handy as a makeshift weapon.

And viewers will now be able to step into that world on Oct. 4. Check out the new trailer for The Walking Dead: World Beyond above.

Sorry, Walking Dead fans, looks like youre gonna have to wait a little longer to head back to the post-apocalyptic land of deadly zombies and even deadlier humans one Season 10 wraps up. AMC announced on the official Walking Dead Twitter account that the premiere of the upcoming spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond has been delayed indefinitely.

The series was originally scheduled to premiere on April 12, and while no new date has been set, the new key says World Beyond will arrive later this year. According to Deadline, the first season of the series had already finished filming, but post-production was still underway on the last few episodes, which has been impacted by the COVID-19 response. Additionally, the report notes that the push may be related to companies pushing their ad spending to later in the year, which would have a major impact on an ad-supported network like AMC.

AMCs Untitled Third Walking Dead Series is untitled no more. Franchise overlord Scott M. Gimple announced on social media Sunday that the latest offshoot will be called The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Ive been working with a lot of talented people to bring you a brand new world of the Walking Dead, Gimple shared on Instagram alongside a photo of the cover of the script for the premiere episode (which bears the title Brave.)

AMC also revealed that Julia Ormond has joined the cast as Elizabeth, the charismatic leader of a large, sophisticated and formidable force (get a first look at her in the new trailer below).

The newest TWD drama, co-created by Gimple and showrunner Matt Negrete and Scott M. Gimple, takes place a decade after the start of the zombie apocalypse and focuses on two young female protagonists, a pair of survivors played by Alexa Mansour (The Resident) and Aliyah Royale (The Red Line).

On Saturday, Oct. 5, AMC premiered a trailer for the untitled The Walking Dead spinoff set to debut this spring. The trailer premiere coincided with the show’s panel at Comic-Con. The trailer backs up the comparison with shots of the show’s teenage survivors venturing beyond the safety of their community on their own for the first time.

Nico Tortorella is Felix. In a recent interview with The Chicago Tribune, Tortorella revealed that the spinoff is set 10 years after the apocalypse, and their character acts as “protector of a younger generation” as they head out on a quest beyond their community’s borders.

Tonally, the untitled TWD spinoff is completely different from both the original series and the more family-focused Fear the Walking Dead. The show is set to focus on a group of teens who have largely been sheltered from the harsh realities of their world. In the trailer, it’s revealed that the kids attend school where they learn about protecting themselves from the undead, but lead lives that are otherwise normal compared to the reality that young characters like Carl from TWD have faced.
